Important Announcement

HealthMPowers will be providing exciting nutrition and physical activity resources and programming to elementary schools targeting students, staff and families.   Resources include family newsletters, health appraisals/fitness assessments for staff, staff development, integrated lesson plans that are linked to the Georgia Performance Standards, exercise DVD’s that can be used in the classroom, assemblies, the HealthMPowers’ Body Walk, grade specific curriculum- all at a value of nearly $10,000.
Please note, there is not a cost to this program; however, schools MUST:
·         Have a 50% or higher free/reduced lunch rate,
·         Commit to a three year partnership with HealthMPowers,
·         Provide 18 hours of documented nutrition and physical activity instruction per K-5 teachers [including homeroom teachers, health, PE, art and music teachers] throughout the school year and submit monthly documentation, and
·         Provide release time for 3-5 staff members to attend tri-annual professional development for continuous improvement of nutrition and physical education programming in the school.
 
Click here to obtain a document that outlines what your school can expect from HealthMPowers, as well as the responsibilities of the school. Schools will need to apprise us of their interest no later than FRIDAY, APRIL 16th as letters of commitment will need to be secured.   There are only 15 – 20 openings for schools, so this is a first come, first serve opportunity.
