Kindergarten class chooses "Healthy Bodies-Healthy MInds"

The George E. Washington Elementary School in Meriwether County, principal, Ms. Janice Owens, shares a success.

"Due to our push of HealthMPowers and our goal to increase awareness, our Kindergarten Class chose "Healthy Bodies-Healthy Minds" as the title and theme for their 2009-2010 Closing Ceremony.  I was thrilled to see our students recite the various food groups and tell the audience how many daily servings we should eat from each food group.  All their songs, poems, and recitals reminded us of the importance of making healthy food choices and getting exercise.   What a way to end the year!!  I'm anxious to kick-off our 2nd year of HealthMPowers and become a healthier and more fit school!!"  (July 21, 2010)
