Meet the Executive Director

 

C

hristi Kay has been a leader in health education in Georgia for more than 20 years, serving as a teacher at the elementary, high school and college levels and as a health and physical education administrator for the Gwinnett County School District. 

She joined HealthMPowers in 1999 as Curriculum Director and has been instrumental in developing the overall program, as well as authoring a variety of materials including a program that integrates physical activity and math and a student fitness portfolio. 

Christi Kay has served in executive volunteer positions with Georgia Chapter of American Alliance for Physical Activity, Health Education, Recreation and Dance (GAPHERD) and the Southeast Division of the American Heart Association.  She has received distinguished honors from both organizations, as well as from other groups.

Christi Kay received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Florida State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Masters degree in Education.
