Testimonials

HealthMPowers is one of those rare programs that is able to utilize the best of health education research in a way that truly works for schools and children. They continue to be a great resource to our health education program. The state-of-the-art mobile unit provides a one-of-a-kind experience. I feel confident that this learning opportunity not only contributes to the overall attainment of lifelong health living skills, but also provides the education community with a valuable sample of how technology can enhance the learning environment. Through shared research, training and consultation, HealthMPowers is also able to support health education system-wide. This is a contribution well beyond the schools directly served by the mobile unit.

“…HealthMPowers has proven to be a valuable asset. The program positively impacts our students, families and the school staff. I feel certain that Georgia’s HealthMPowers project will continue to be a model for others in years to come. Support for HealthMPowers is an investment in the education, health and well being of our children…”

“We are impressed with the HealthMPowers program and the opportunities it affords the children, faculty and community members in our school system. Carrollton City Schools is participating in the initial HealthMPowers program, and we look forward to implementing the benefits.”

HealthMPowers is an innovative, community-directed approach designed to promote health and prevent illness in children. It recognizes that the protection of Atlanta’s children requires strong health education programming for K-12 students, their parents and community leaders.”

Dear HealthMPowers
I just want to tell you how I enjoyed the information that you gave me. What I learned was to make sure that I don’t get in any cars when I know that my friends have been drinking because most of the time they can’t see or hear. I also learned that alcohol can give you blackouts. So for your information, I just want to say thank you for that very important information. I really enjoyed your time.

Thanks,
Latoya W.

Dear HealthMPowers
This week during health class, I learned important things about my body. I learned to check my heart rate. I learned how to read the food label to check for how much sugar is in the item or how much sodium. I really had fun this week. Hopefully, I’ll get to do it again next week. Thanks for your help!

Your friend,

“The health risk assessments were very informative and something that is definitely doable in my life. Because of this program, I can make changes in my life and the lives of my kids.”
