Honoring Dr. Diane Allensworth, HealthMPowers' First Executive Director
A fun afternoon of live music, food, games, raffles, and a silent auction.
On August 27, 2011 we celebrated the retirement of Dr. Diane Allensworth. Dr. Allensworth recently retired from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Beginning her work at the CDC in 1997, Dr. Allensworth served as the Branch Chief for Program Development Services within the Division of Adolescent School Health Centers for Disease Control. In 2001, CDC detailed Diane to HealthMPowers (formerly Kids' Health Inc.) ad the Executive Director.

During her tenure, she was instrumental in establishing a framework for the program. Calling upon her rich background, expertise and professional networks, she was able to lead HealthMPowers' staff using the latest scientific research in both education and public health. As a result, the development of a state-of-the-art program took place for elementary and middle schools. Recognized for its innovative design and effectiveness, the HealthMPowers' program is unique and does not exist anywhere else in the country. This model now serves students, schools and communities all across Georgia and will continue to do so for many years to come. In 2005, Dr. Allensworth returned to the CDC, but continued to provide valuable support to HealthMPowers as a Board of Director and Chair of the Program Improvement and Evaluation Committee.
The HealthMPowers' Board of Directors and staff greatly acknowledge all of the efforts and contributions of Dr. Diane Allensworth and wish her the very best as she "travels" into this next chapter of her new "career."
If you could not join us for the event, please feel free to make a donation in Diane's honor.
